Very first són education project combines artwork & live-streaming
són is a very new organisation – only recently created, with an official launch event planned later this year, and a growing portfolio of opening projects, mini-concerts and workshops. One such event – the very first són project – took place last weekend in Southampton. “Little Swans” – a short, informal string-players showcase – brought both a good audience, and good weather. And the audience was much bigger than those present in the hall, as the whole performance was broadcast on the són live-streaming channel, with viewers joining the audience in the hall, watching the young players from as far afield as Mexico and Japan.
Taking a leaf out of the creative book of their Artistic Advisor, painter and author James Mayhew, són held an associated art-work project and competition, all centered around the theme of “Little Swans”. A short and sunny afternoon, enjoyed by all, offering a chance for relatives on the far side of the globe to watch a grandchild play live perhaps for the very first time.
