Following our sell-out launch concert and the beginning of our “Unwrapped” series, join us this spring for the next són adventure! Featuring Classic FM presenter and author John Suchet, be with us as we unwrap one of the greatest and most important symphonies ever written.

Discover why Beethoven dedicated his most important work so far to Napoleon, only to scratch out the dedication later. Delve beneath the surface of this incredible masterwork and find out more as we explore Beethoven and his Eroica symphony in real depth.

John Suchet will lead the audience on a journey through Beethoven’s life and times, exploring his reactions to Napoleon and his increasing deafness. His loss of hearing, far from cutting him off from the world, brought out some of his most emotionally supercharged and history-changing compositions, including this most radical of works, his third symphony – the “Eroica”.

Exclusive Book-signing

John Suchet will be signing copies of both his recent books during the interval – Beethoven: The Man Revealed and The Last Waltz: The Strauss Dynasty & Vienna. Take advantage of this exclusive offer, negotiated directly with the publishers, open to all ticket-holders for the main concert.
